Yesterday I was able to remove the oil filter. On Friday after work I was able to turn it a half turn, but it didn't feel like it was loosening, I was wrong it just needed another quarter turn and Boom! Got the damn thing off. Now to address the small transmission leak from the shifter... I took the practice exam at compTIA Site for Security+. I passed, but not by much. Got some more studying to do, the test is on Friday, June 1. What should I tackle next, linux+, ccna, windows server? Guess I'll decide after the exam.

BlackBerry Playbook part 1

So my buddy is lending me his blackberry playbook to see if I want to buy it. I managed to dislike it pretty quickly, but then something strange happened after using it a little more... I'm growing to like it.  Since I have a blackberry for work, having the ability to connect it to my phone and read/answer emails while on the bus is great and the tethering feature is very nice too. The physical size and weight is great too... Well maybe a bit heavy but not too much. battery life so far seems good too. I have yet to try out its android app feature, which ultimately will be a big selling point for me. I'm typing this blog post on the bus while tethered to my BB, reading emails and watching the recent Hak5 episode I downloaded at home using the builtin podcast app.  One nice feature is being able to swipe through my running programs and it automatically pauses the video while I type this.

What I learned today?  Not much.  I learned LakeLand Bus in New jersey fair went up AGAIN!  Unbelievable how much they are charging. I got tired of Debian prompting for the install CD everytime I try to install something from APT so I commented out the line in /etc/apt/sources.list I'm still studying for the SY0-301 CompTIA Security+.  I'm almost ready to take the test, I just need a little more studying to feel confident.

What I learned today

1. I learned if you get your Harley serviced by the dealer, they screwed the damn oil filter way too tight!  I can't seem to unscrew it!! 2. Google thinks iceweasel on Debian is an old browser. 3. Zero Engineering makes the coolest bikes on the planet.

First Post

Hello World Ok I felt that my first blog needed to say that... isn't there some unwritten law that all IT people have to say that for their first thing? My blog about IT stuff, motorcycles.. and anything I feel like posting. This is more of my public notes to myself then anything else.  I guess Evernote wasn't public enough and Facebook is too public :) truthfully I started this since it was advised by the study done by DigiNinja since I am interested in computer security and one big piece of advice is to start a blog.  See http://www.digininja.org/projects/breaking_in_part_2.php, I'm not lying. Later.
